Last month I had the chance to join back up with Trixie Scraps and her amazing team! After almost a year long break, it was good to be back on a CT that I loved! Since then I have been busy scrapping!

My Memories Digital Scrapbook Software Giveaway!!

You all know I'm a hard core digital scrapbooking addict.

This is nothing new for my dedicated readers.
I've been doing it for 4 years.

I was recently approached by My Memories to try out their digital scrapbooking software.

I had heard about them from my good friend, and digi scrap designer, Trixie Scraps.

Honestly, I just want to say, this software was a bit frustrating for me.

I have been using Photoshop Elements 7 for 2 years, and I used Paint Shop Pro 9 for 4 years before that.
This is different from those other programs I have used, by a lot.
In order to bring in your files that you wanted to use, that you perhaps picked up as a freebie or purchased outside of MyMemories, you had to load them directly into the program by going into the program files and splitting them up.
I found a fantastic tutorial on youtube that explains how you can do that.

This program allows you to make your own pages, or use the templates/quickpages that you can buy or they already have in the program!
It allows you to shadow, alter, or add shapes to your pages.
Along with text for journaling, titles and word art as well.
My Memories Suite comes loaded with lots of goodies to try out!

This is an EXCELLENT program for those that are new to digital scrapbooking.

I think everyone who has ever paper scrapped, should try digital scrapbooking.
This is a great way to get started and find that digital scrapbooking is cheaper, cleaner, and much more fun!

Speed Scrap!!!

I am getting so excited because it's almost here. What's that, you ask? Our FIRST EVER Speed Scrap at TrixieScraps.com! We are giddy with excitement and we cannot WAIT to hang out with everyone for an hour tomorrow night. It starts at 9pm EST in the Chat Room here on our site. You can use this timezone converter to figure out what time it is in your region when it is 9pm EST! Best of all? Every attendee who submits their layout will receive a beautiful pack of quickpages made from this month's DST Gold Member kit, Natural Beauty!

So, are you new to the concept of Speed Scrapping? Want to know what it is? No Problem! Basically, a speed scrap is like a live challenge. During the hour-long chat, I will issue one "step" or instruction every 10 minutes. You can work on your layout while you chat, or just jot down the steps and work on it later so you can concentrate on the fun part - chatting!! At the end of the hour, the chat will end and everyone will be given a few hours to finish up their layout and post it in the TS.com gallery. And then everyone who submits their layout on time will get the participation prize featured above for free! It's a fun way to spend an hour, plus the speed scrap steps will help you create a page you will love, too!

Being on a Creative Team

As many of you know, I'm a digiscrap nut.

I have been digi-scrapping for almost 4 years now!

For 3 of those years I've been on Trixie Scraps creative team, and for almost all of that, I've been her Creative Team lead.

That means I, um, motivate, the team.

Really, I'm just the "Queen of Mischief" there.

*smiles*

This is my second family.

I love it.

Some of us have even gotten together in real life.

Face to face!

Now, THAT was a good time!!!!

A Pleasant Surprise

Much to my surprise, I opened my Thursday Writing Prompt email from Mama Kat to find that she had featured the guest post from my bestie Christa on the 10 do's and don'ts of flying.

Christa is a flight attendant.

With attitude.

Seriously.

I died.

Then I did a happy dance when I realized that there was going to be more visitors to my quiet little bit of the blog-o-sphere.

This weekend was busy anyways because of the Trixie Scraps Blog Train.

Then, I did another happy dance.
